The idea for the utilization of the inactive kiosks was made after the proposal of the students of the 2nd primary school of Rethymno, who, working all year round on an innovative life skills training program (LifeSkills) aimed at the active citizen, proposed the cooperation of the school, the municipality of Rethymno and the School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete for the use of the stands as open lending libraries.
The main project of the course of “Parametric design”, taught during the spring semester of 2020, asked the Architecture students to propose innovative designs and uses of the inactive kiosks. The project outcomes were presented online to the principal of the 2nd primary school and the deputy mayor of Rethymno with great success!
