The Digital Fabrication Laboratory has designed, fabricated and donated a number of aerosol boxes for for SARS-CoV-2 COVID 19 protection. The baxes are made of clear 4mm thick acrylic and are intended to protect medical and nursing staff during patient intubation as they significantly reduce the dispersion of particles in the space. The design is an evolution of the aerosol box that was invented and posted online by anesthesiologist Lai Hsien-Yung and is a product of the Lab’s collaboration with the medical staff of Chania Hospital.
